The Timpa Trails
Get your hiking gear and smartphone ready to capture this unforgettable experience: are you ready to explore the Timpa trails? An old lava stone road, now known as Via del Tocco, once connected Acireale to Santa Maria La Scala.
Today, from the lava ridge about 80 meters high, the winding path offers unforgettable views and breathtaking scenery. From here, you’ll begin the evocative route, which includes seven hairpin bends and as many “chiazzette” (small squares in Sicilian dialect), votive chapels, and the ancient Fortezza del Tocco. Surrounded by capers, prickly pears, and mulberry trees, it crosses the reserve until reaching a crossroads.
Whether you choose to cross the citrus grove on the right and reach the beach of Molino di Santa Maria La Scala or continue left towards the main square of the seaside village, beauty is guaranteed.

An excursion dedicated to discovering the “Riviera of the Cyclops.” On this relaxing day, you can admire, at the base of the Falconiera cliff, the beach of Santa Tecla, the picturesque coves of Stazzo and Pozzillo, the Acitrezza marine reserve with the mythological Cyclops Islands, and the medieval castle of Acicastello.
As you sail, you’ll learn some of the legends and stories of our beloved land. During the day, you’ll also have the opportunity to snorkel and enjoy a typical Sicilian aperitif on board.
